                                                Mission Viejo animal services
Now with kittens!

                                                          Animal Highlight!

Tugboat is a male terrier mix who is over a year old. Tugboat is a little dog with a big personality! He's fun, independent, and active! He's a very energetic dog for energetic people! A busy terrier is a happy terrier! So in that case, he's better in an environment where he can go jogging or hiking. He loves to play with other dogs or other people, but if you want to have another friend, he might need some time. If you don't plan on having any other doggy friends, though he can play with himself as long as he wants, so don't worry! He's better around older kids for the reason that he is a little mouthy and likes his toys. Although he might look like he never stops playing, when you tire him out he can curl up and sleep. Tugboat is a dog who aims to please and will always want his owners to be happy! If you stop by at the Mission Viejo animal shelter now, they will cover $100 of a $180 fee to an appropriate owner. So stop by for and check him out for yourself! Here's a link to their website

A trip to the Marine Center

Hello, I am Scott Davis, and I just got back from my visit to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach. After the visit, I learned some things about rescue centers that I didn't know before.

When I was on my way there, I thought that it would a fun experience to see the volunteers playing with the animals. But that wasn't exactly what I saw. This year, there are a lot of washed up baby seals, and damaged ones. They take them in and tube feed them. And then they keep giving them liquids until they can eat fish, which then they usually separate them because they aren't competitive. Eventually, they keep building them up until they can compete, and when they put on enough weight and can compete for food, then they will be released.

But they need resources. The PMMC is running low because of the outburst in cubs this time of year. They are starving. But we can help. We can help by donating money towards the PMMC, or donating blankets to keep them warm, Karo syrup to feed the cubs, and Pedialyte to feed the cubs. They need Pedialyte because they cant eat fish yet, they need to develop, just like infants cannot eat hard food. I'm doing a drive on march 14, and obviously, you might not be close, but you can donate to your local marine center. So take a stand and help the animals in the sea. Thank you.
